The “two-ways” rhythms
Concept, composer, arranger, trumpet & conductor
Thanks to the invitation of Internacional Festival de Música Pau Casals (el Vendrell, 2009) I had the chance to creat a repertoire around the concept of the “two-way” ryhthms: the melodies and rhythm patterns the catalans took with them in their trips to Cuba (18th and 19th centuries) and how this music came back to the peninsula in a different form, like the bolero, for instance. It was a successfull project with cobla La Principal de Llobregat and Roger Soler as a latin percusion soloist. For him I wrote the piece Echu Mingua , commissioned by Memorial Joaquim Serra in 2008.
